The Art of Presence: Working with Props and the Human Form
Join me for a two-hour workshop exploring the dynamic intersection of the human form and meaningful objects. With an experienced art nude model as our muse, we’ll delve into how props can enhance narrative, evoke emotion, and add sculptural tension or harmony to your compositions.
This workshop isn’t about decoration—it’s about intention. You’ll learn to:
- Choose and position props to tell a story or shift the mood
- Use texture, contrast, and space to create visual tension
- Work with light to shape the body and environment
- Direct the model with respect, clarity, and creative openness
- Balance abstraction and intimacy without losing authenticity
Our model: Carly Lundy
Who it's for:
Photographers with some experience working with models or figure studies. Not suitable for absolute beginners.
What to bring:
Your camera, a curious mind, and a respect for the collaborative process.
Each participant is also required to bring one prop—something personal, symbolic, or visually striking—that we can incorporate into the shoot. This will serve as a creative prompt and part of the session's visual storytelling.
This workshop includes partial and full artistic nudity and is open to participants aged 18 and older only.
